Step 1 and Basic Water Awareness for ages 17m-6y
Respect for the water should be the first and foremost lesson a child should learn about water.
Step 1 for Toddlers- Ages 17m-3y with parent
Basic Water Awareness for ages 17m-3y with parent AND ages 4-6y.
Step 1 Intro Sessions are available for children ages 17m-3y with parent who do not yet meet the prerequisites for Basic Water Awareness.
Children do not need to meet any prerequisites except to not be fearful of being in the pool. We do not suggest children who have rarely been in a pool at all join group lessons. Fearful children should spend time in a pool with their parent just acclimating before trying to join any formal swimming lessons.
Basic Water Awareness classes are goal oriented sessions that will assist children in a fun and relaxed way to prepare them for beginning survival group survival lessons. To join a Basic Water Awareness class, children must be able to have water poured over their head and into their face with no fuss or fightn. They must also be willing to lay in a flat back float position with assistance and no fuss or fight.
Ages 17m-3y will be in class with their parent or caretaker.
Ages 4y-6y will be in the water without parents.
