Just because you can swim doesn’t mean you know how to survive drowning: making sure you understand the difference

Training to swim and training to survive in the water are two different sets of skills.  Even adults who can swim aren’t necessarily equipped to save themselves from drowning.  This is why at SWIMBABES, we practice safety skills at each lesson like , “what do you do if you are tired?” ,  “what do you do if you are scared?”.  We also practice safe pool side habits like requiring every child to learn to wait before ever entering a body of water.

This is a fantastic article that talks what all adults need to know and what we should also be teaching our children!~
